tweet.IM – Control your Twitter with your instant messenger

What is tweet.IM? tweet.IM is a free service offered by ProcessOne. It enables you to use micro-blogging platforms like Twitter from your existing instant messaging application. The service makes it easier for you to send messages (called tweets), as well as follow the tweets of other users.

How does it work?

The tweet.IM service sits between your Jabber or Google@Talk instant messaging account and your Twitter account and passes messages to and from, in both directions. As a result, you can create Twitter messages in your instant messaging application and send them direct to Twitter, without having to enter your Twitter account. You can also elect to receive tweets from users that you follow, directly in your instant messenger.

Current commands include:

@username message — public reply/send a message to this persond username message — sends a direct message to this person

f username — follow this personu username — unfollow this person

p username — information on user profileing — list people you follow (following)ers &mdashl list people that follow you (followers)

ss — show saved searchessd searchname — delete saved searchsa query — save a search query

ts — show your current tweet mode: on, off or autotm mode — set tweet mode where mode is:on - always receive tweetsoff - never receive tweetsauto - receive tweets depending on your current status
